Tools: Host Lookup Utility ( lu.vernalex.com )

The purpose of this utility is to report your external wide area network (WAN) IP address (and other related information) as perceived by Internet "web" (HTTP) servers. Please note that this number could vary from your internal IP address if your local area network (LAN) is behind a NAT server (including a home router). The IP address found below is the number that users external to your local area network must use to locate your computer on the Internet.

This information is useful because it allows you to know the address others need to use to connect to you over the Internet. Programs that you execute on your computer to identify your IP address may report an internal address that cannot be used for routing on the Internet (this is often an IP that begins with 192.168)

For more information please read the documentation that explains how this utility works and what this information means to you.

"Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, War. He is the only one that gathers his brethren about him and goes forth in cold blood and calm pulse to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out... and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel.... And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for 'the universal brotherhood of man' - with his mouth". --Mark Twain
