The logon hours service is new to Windows codename Longhorn. The purpose of this service is to provide restrictions as to when a user is able to login to their computer. This would be useful in disallowing children from using a computer after bedtime hours or from allowing remote users the overnight chance to breach a server at night when there's no sysadmins around. This service can safely be disabled if not in use, but without it the ability to limit logon hours is turned off.
