Explanation (?):

The Hummingbird Inetd service is nonstandard to Windows and is installed with the commercial package of the Hummingbird HostExplorer. HostExplorer is a very highly evolved toolkit for Internet communications and provides services for FTP, 3270 and many other text type protocols. This service is installed by default with the program and provides common daemons (services) for such things as Identd. If you do not need to run response daemons like this then it is completely useless and very bad to run these as they leave your computer more vulnerable to intrusion. If you have this service then I would highly recommend disabling this service unless you know you need it.
