Services Utility: FireDaemon Service: * Service Display Name (?): | FireDaemon Service: * | Short Name (?): | * | Executable (?): | FireDaemon.exe -s | Library (?): | None. | Depends On (?): | None. | Supports (?): | None. | Description (?): | None. | OS (?): | Third party or non-default | Startup (?): | Default | Home | Workstation | Server | Minimal | Tweaked | Automatic | Automatic | Disabled | Disabled | Automatic | Disabled | Disabled | Disabled | | Explanation (?): | FireDaemon is a commercial application made by Sublime Solutions Pty Ltd and it's intended to wrap most any program as a service. The benefit of wrapping a program as a service is that it can be started at boot rather than at logon and that it can be configured to run invisible, which is quite useful for server applications that have no ability to actually run as a server application. The name of this service can be altered to display as most anything, but it typically starts with "FireDaemon Service:". If you don't want the functionality of this service then you are best to uninstall FireDaemon or use the FireDaemon control panel to remove a specific service that was installed through it rather than to just disable it. Also, several trojans have made use of this program as a wrapper to hide themselves so you should be extremely weary of these services if you didn't install FireDaemon. |

"Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship[...] Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country." - Herman Goering: Intelligence office interview at Nuremberg, 1946/4/18
