Explanation (?):
The Defwatch service is used in detecting out of date virus definitions for Norton Antivirus and updating them. This service runs on the schedule set by the user (or by the default install). If you have Norton Antivirus you will want this set to automatic unless you manually update virus definitions in which case you should set it to disabled. However, this application normally takes up less than 100kB of RAM and won't affect performance if enabled besides when updating the definitions.
