The VMWare DHCP Service service provides the ability for the virtual machine emulation program VMWare to retrieve an IP address from a network resident DHCP server through the Windows standard DHCP servic, or to provide a NAT internal IP address when requested from a virtual machine session. Communication of VMWare through host adapters is performed by the VMWare's Virtual Ethernet Adapter Adapters driver.
If you have VMWare installed and you are using a static IP address or you are not using an Internet connection in VMWare sessions then this service can be safely disabled. If you do not have VMWare installed then this service should not exist.

"He did not move. Eyes shut, he waited, shivering. He heard Travis breathe loud in the room; he heard Travis shift his rifle, click the safety catch, and raise the weapon. There was a sound of thunder." --A Sound of Thunder, Rad Bradbury
