Services Utility: Adobe LM Service Service | Display Name (?): | Adobe LM Service | | Short Name (?): | Adobe LM Service | | Executable (?): | Adobelmsvc.exe | | Library (?): | None. | | Depends On (?): | None. | | Supports (?): | None. | | Description (?): | Adobe LM Service | | OS (?): | Third party or non-default | | Startup (?): | | Default | Home | Workstation | Server | Minimal | Tweaked | Automatic | | Manual | Manual | Manual | Manual | Manual | Disabled | Disabled | | Explanation (?): | The Adobe LM service provides license management for Adobe products. This service was originally implemented in Photoshop CS (version 8), but it is quite possible other Adobe products use it also. The actual purpose of the service is to enumerate hardware devices for product activation. So, if it detects the hardware it was originally installed on has changed then it asks for you to resubmit your registration to Adobe. This service cannot be disabled as it will reenable if you do so, so I suggest leaving it set to manual so it activates only when it is called on by Photoshop startup. |

"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." --John Philpot Curran (Speeches. Dublin, 1808)
